Due to lack of reliable ESKOM power in the area, the client wished to become completely independent of ESKOM supply. e-LEK was approached from the architectural stage to act as an electrical consultant on the design and implementation of the power distribution supply and network. e-LEK have installed the following:

• 60 kWp Solar PV Panels
• 50kW SMA Core 1 Solar Inverter
• 10kW Victron MPPT Solar Charger
• 90kVA Victron Quattro Inverters
• 178kWh SolarMD Battery Capacity

The installed system is integrated with a 100kVA generator as a secondary backup. The system was installed and commissioned in 2021 and has since proven why a Victron solution is worth the cost.

The performance and operation of the system is monitored daily by the e-LEK Energy customer support team.

Fully occupied, the lodge can host a total of 60 guests, including a fully operational kitchen to cook for all the guests.
