About the installation
Due to the ever-increasing load shedding schedules, ISA Carstens explored methods to overcome the negative impact load shedding was having on the education of their students. e-LEK Energy was approached to find an optimal solution given the situation. e-LEK installed the following equipment:
- 84.36 kWp Longi Solar PV Panels
- 50kW SMA Core 1 Solar Inverter
- 135kVA Victron Quattro Inverters
- 360kWh Freedom Won Battery Capacity
The installed system allows the ISA Carstens Campus to continue normal operations during load shedding periods. In addition, the tenants in the other sections of the building also benefit from load shedding free days.
In the process the building also generates a predicted 100MWh per annum, lowering the dependence on municipal supply.
The performance and operation of the system is monitored daily by the e-LEK Energy customer support team.
