Astron Energy
About the company
Astron Energy, previously known as Chevron South Africa, is one of the fastest growing oil and gas companies in Southern Africa. Astron Energy, like many energy companies, has been working on environmental and sustainability initiatives. This includes efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its operations and support the development of cleaner energy solutions.
About the installation
e-LEK Energy were approached to engineer an optimal solution for Astron Energy to become less dependent on municipal supply, minimize the impact that load shedding was having on their core business and bring down the diesel costs for running one of their two generators. As part of the utility network at Astron Energy, there is a Fresh-Stop garage shop as well as a Tiger Wheel and Tire who also needed to be supplied with the solution. e-LEK installed the following equipment:
- 118kWp Solar PV Panels
- 150kW ATESS HV Hybrid Inverter
- 314kWh SolarMD Battery Capacity
Due to the nature of business, location and available space, e-LEK proposed to install a containerized solution which houses all the equipment. e-LEK designed, engineered, and assembled the required equipment, insulation, and air conditioning at their new premises.
The container was successfully delivered and commissioned on site.
